Cookies and strawberries with Grandma...

Our last day in Virginia before we head home to Washington state. It only seemed fitting that we have special treats to ease the sorrow of leaving...Home made chocolate chip cookies made with love, oh so sweet
These delicious strawberries were too beautiful to resist and what makes a perfect strawberry even better? Hmmm, perhaps dipping them in chocolate, oh yeah.
Don't you just love those luscious chocolate coated lips?
She's digging in...
Who chose the biggest berry....
Chocolate, what a wonderful word.

What a wonderful way to end our visit in Virgina

Holiday weekend...

I hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend and as you rest, relax, and play don't forget to take a moment and give thanks to the many brave men and women who so bravely protect our freedom!

Let every nation know whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty -John F Kenndy
By the way....
One of my favorite blogs these days is "The Scrap Review" it is a great place to visit and read unbiased reviews about all of the various products out there in scrapland.
Emilie Ahern says... "We report on and review everything from adhesives to trimmers to big ticket personal cutting systems. With easy and comprehensive rating systems and TSR top picks, choosing the right products to add to your stash is just a click away."
Mosey on over and see what you think.

Oh la la...such sweet treasures!

As promised a few photos of my estate sale adventure...

I am just tickled pink, no pun intended, to have found this lovely vintage sewing basket. It even has a tiny little pin cushion attached inside. I believe it to be a shaker basket covered with borcade and satin. Am doing the happy dance, oh yeah!
I have become inspired by Teresa McFayden 's blog on May 12 where she shares her freehand sampler. I thought this basket would be a handy dandy place for my sewing supplies.
A tiny little door knocker, can't you just see it on the front of a journal, inviting you to come in? An adorable strawberry brooch, just too cute
Bling and more bling with some vintage lace
A beautiful old german foil scrap of a pink rose blossom
More vintage german foil...Can you see the sweet little girl on the left?
And a wonderful old spelling primer...
Just look and the aged pages, what stories to tell of times gone bye.
I so enjoyed this day of treasure hunting with my daughter and now it appears my grand daughter is also learning about "old stuff"...in her words, "Grammy don't you just love old stuff"?
A delightful {View} indeed, Catherine

A lovely day to visit Virginia...

Hello friends...
our amazing month in Romania has come to an end and we are now in Leesburg, Virgina visiting our daughter and her family before we head home to Washington state. I must admit it is lovely to visit another country, however, it is always wonderful to come back home to the USA.

Yesterday, my daughter, Cristina and I hopped in the car and headed out to an "Estate Sale" and then lunch in Front Royal with a little more antique shopping thrown in. A delightful day spent finding little treasures

Sweet Cristina examining some beatiful art prints...hard to choose.

What a beautiful setting, a misty damp morning in Virginia...an extraordinary {View}
I look forward to sharing some of the treasures I found with you over the next few days. In the meantime it is a delight to return to My {View} and share it with you.
Thanks for dropping bye,
Catherine
