A trip to Paradise...

When the temperatures rise above 100 degrees and it sizzles, what to do....hmmmm, how about a day trip to Mt Rainier and visit the newly reopened PARADISE LODGE. Happy Grandpa with his "two" boys. Marcelo is by his side whilst Michael Jr. is peeking behind him...lol
Oh the joys of summer, what is nicer than the front porch with a majestic view of the mountain and a breeze, perhaps a lemonade. Yes life is good.

We had a fab trip on our "daycation" with stops for ice cream along the way.
Enjoying summer, are you?

Take me out to the ball game...

Our son and his two boys, Michael Junior and Marcelo traveled from Romania to vacation with us in the Pacific NW. The boys love baseball and so we headed off to a Seattle Mariners game. We picked kids day because the boys received Ichiro shirts and after the game were invited down onto the field to run the bases, oh yeah, the bases.Obligatory photo with team mascot, "The Moose"

Yet another photo opp with Michael Jr. standing in front of the stadium on this glorious sunny day.

And they are off...pretty exciting to be down on the field with only about 20,000 other kids and families...LOL

And last but not least a photo of Ichiro in play. This guy is Michael Junior's very favorite player and we were sitting right behind him.
...buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks, I don't care if I never get back. For it's root root root for the home team and if they don't win it's a shame...For it's One, Two, Three strikes you're out of the old ballgame!
Ah summer,

Another sweet Marie Antoinette altered envelope...

Voila...the third altered envelope for the Marie "mail art" altered envelope swap....Rather than a traditional envelope I choose to do a tri-fold which I actually think is more reflective of the era.
The front of the envelope.
The back flap is adorned with pearls and a beautiful silk flower
The entire envelope unfolded...

Unusual colors...I don't usually include brown but I thought the Bohemia paper worked well with the aqua swirls. How nice to have mail delivered in this fashion.

Thanks for sharing My {View} and may yours be filled with lovelies.

Bonjour mes amis...

It's a lovely afternoon at Le Petit Trianon and Marie Antoinette is ready to receive her correspondence and learn of the latest court gossip. Her ladies in waiting gather round as the first envelope is delivered....shimmering pink glitter, sweet pink feather, gauze butterfly with gold, not to mention flower buttons and pearls. Oh la la, magnifique..fit for a Queen.
Tres charment, oui...gold filagree, pink glitter swirls, sweet German Foil paper dollies and even a cake. and vintage lace upon which a small bee sits.
These are two "altered envelopes" I have just finished for my Marie Antoinette mail art group swap. I make three and will receive three in return. I love pretty envelopes almost as much as I love "old fashioned snail" mail. It is such a treat to open the mailbox and see a lovely mini work of art all for you.
Adieu...today My {View} is filled with visions of Paris in days long gone bye.

So cute...

Heidi Swapp and House of 3 have nicely provided a kit for those of us who are taking Jessica Sprague's free digital class in honor of her birthday celebration. Today's lesson was focused on applying a frame and word art to your photo. I am enjoying this class because it gives me a chance to practice with CS4.Today I finally learned how to take a digi element and hover over the photo you want to use. I had been struggling with how to find the photo once I had the element in the work area...lol. I know silly, hey don't forget I am blonde. This is a photo of my youngest grandchild, Marcelo. I may be a tad biased but I sure think he is a cutie patutie...

Can't wait for the next lesson and thanks House of 3 for the delightful kit!

Let Freedom Ring...

Hoping you all have a fabulous 4th of July. We shall be celebrating with long time friends on Lake Washington where we will enjoy fireworks after dark. What do your plans include? “Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and success of liberty.”- John Fitzgerald Kennedy
