you never know what you are going to get.
Forest Gump 1984
I was inspired by Amy's, Inspire Co. blog when she shared so honestly and beautifully about her poignant journey as a foster mom on her blog. So I take a deep breath and in the footsteps of Amy I share...
Our son and his family spent the month of July with us and then spent a few weeks in Washington DC before heading off to his new assignment in Monterrey, Mexico. They literally had just arrived when everything began to go belly up. The drug cartels are at war with each other and the city has become very dangerous, culminating with an attempted kidnapping and shoot out in front of our two grandson's school. The Ambassador has officially announced that Monterry is no longer safe and children must leave.
So, today, God willing and the creek don't rise our daughter in law and our two grandboys will leave Monterrey and come to stay with us. Unfortunately, our son must stay...
I am truly grateful we will have the boys with us safe and sound, but as you can well imagine, as a Mother, my heart is full of fear and anxiety for our son's safety.
For today,
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
and the courage to change the things I can....
