Hello, it's been awhile...

As I was getting ready to leave for Virginia I thought it would be fun to make a special little "happy" for my sweet daughter.  Since I would be with her in May I thought a Tussie Mussie might be just right.  Now as I understand it, the Victorians assigned an odd name to a bouquet holder. An ornate silver accessory was created with the intent to safeguard a woman's tender hands from the thorny rose.  Well my creation is not ornate silver but wonderful vintage blue flocked wallpaper. Adorned with pink gathered crepe paper, old lace with light blue scallops, delightful vintage ear bobs and finally vintage seam binding for the ribbons.

I choose to stuff the Tussie Mussie with a beautiful handmade vintage doily that belonged to my mother.  I also added some German Scraps, Marie Antoinette style, vinage siloutte playing cards, a vintage milk cap in shades of blue and one special handmade rose to round out the goodies.  I carefully wrapped it up and put the package in the mail so it would arrive at my daughter's house while we were there  : )

It is good to be back home and into normal routines but I must say my heart is never quite full when I am away from my wonderful grandchildren.  But thankful, I am for two glorious weeks in May.

XOXO
Catherine

What a sweet grandmother you are! You and Cristina are quite a pair. Sometime I hope I can bring my Kat to SB or another art conference. She would love it so much and I would adore having her company.

I can see why you love those grandchildren! You are all lucky to have each other!

Hugs,
Suz
