I used an illustration from a vintage 1924 nursery rhyme book, "On The ROAD TO MAKE BELIEVE" by Frederick J. Forster, which I was lucky enough to find one day when I was out antiquing.
My friend is expecting a baby boy and when I saw this sweet little illustration I could not resist using it as the base of the card. I added old vintage crocheted lace, which I sewed onto the cardstock, sanded the edges of the card to age it and then I added lots of rub ons. I particularly like the fingers and toes verbage. And finally added three blue pearls. Voila! A quick look at the inside of the card, quite simple. I used rub ons and then sewed on a little old baby button I had in my stash :)
So now for the silly part, I was sitting on the ferry on my way to the shower when I realized I had not taken any photos of the end result...lol. So I quickly grabbed my iphone and snapped a few photos, that is why the picture quality is not as good as it should be. The ferry was vibrating and moving, I was trying to hold the card and the iphone without jiggling, no easy task as it turns out. What did we do before cell phones with cameras???
Thanks for dropping in and I hope you are off to a good start this Monday, as a new week begins.
